International Admissions

In Admissions

Our children - and teachers - come from a range of backgrounds, from many different parts of England and from many different countries. Each year we welcome international pupils who contribute to the school's diverse range of talents. Our friendly admissions team will guide you through the admissions process and answer any questions you might have.

Boarding

  • We accept international boarding pupils each year from age 11/Year 7 upwards. We encourage you to contact us as early as possible and prior to making an application so that we can guide you through the admissions process.
  • All international boarders must have an educational guardian who lives within two hours' drive of the school. We recommend that you appoint a guardian accredited by AEGIS. For more information, please visit our page on Guardians.
  • The School has a comprehensive procedure to ensure safe transit of its boarding pupils. Please visit our page on travel arrangements or contact us for more information.

International Agents

We welcome enquiries from International Agents and are members of the British Boarding Schools Network. Please contact us [email protected] for more information. Members of the Admissions team speak fluent Russian, Mandarin and German.

Agents receive 10% of the first year's fee for any boarding pupil who is successfully placed with us.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

  • St Peter’s School is an English Language school. In order to cope with the high academic and social demands of the School, pupils must be fluent English speakers.
  • We expect a high standard of written and spoken English from all applicants to St Peter’s, including boarding applications, and this will be assessed in the admissions process.
  • We may recommend that pupils receive individual tuition in English at the parents’ expense. In this case, we are able to provide English as an Additional Language (EAL) support to assist pupils whose first language is not English.
  • The EAL rate for September 2021 will be £30 per 40 minute lesson. The charge will be reviewed annually and will be charged in arrears for each term.

Visas and Passports

  • St Peter's is a licensed sponsor of Child Study Visas for boarders and parents must state on application whether they wish to apply for a visa.
  • Parents and Guardians are asked to note that the School is not responsible for the arrangement and administration of pupil visas and passports.
  • In accordance with UK Visas and Immigration regulations copies of international boarders’ passports and visas will be kept by the school.
  • It is the responsibility of the pupil’s parents via their Guardian to ensure that passports and visas are kept up to date.
  • Please note that we do not sponsor study visas for day pupils so you will be asked for evidence of your child's Leave to Remain in the United Kingdom during the application process if they do not have a British, British National Overseas (BNO) or Irish passport.
