St Peter’s School is keen to add to the expertise and diversity of the Board of Governors.
Serving as a Governor at St Peter’s School is a highly rewarding experience, offering numerous personal and professional benefits.
School governance gives professionals the chance to experience leadership at board level at any point in their career and we welcome all levels of leadership experience. There is the opportunity to develop and improve technical and interpersonal skills whilst strengthening professional networks across many specialists.
Our Governors share their lived experience and skills to bring a new perspective to St Peter’s. We seek voices from different groups and communities and especially welcome those from groups which may bring a new perspective to the School and to independent education.
Governors derive self fulfilment from making a difference to St Peter’s, helping to shape its future and sustaining it for generations to come. They play a vital role in the School community and their contribution is highly valued.
The commitment for a St Peter’s Governor is to attend Full Board meetings four times a year as well as an annual strategy day and participation in one or more of the specialist committees. Meetings usually take place in the evenings and whilst remote participation is available, we strongly recommend meeting at the School in order to connect with the pupil and staff community.
Unfortunately we do not currently have any vacancies for parent governors but would be happy to hear from parents at the school interested in joining the Board at a future date.
To find out more or to have an informal chat about the role of Governor and current vacancies, please contact the Clerk to the Governors.
