Co-curricular drama is a vibrant and diverse activity at St Peter's.
The department holds numerous productions staged each year in various locations across the campus, including the Shepherd Hall, Memorial Hall and the Dame Judi Dench Studio Theatre. Pupils are taught to become perceptive theatre practitioners and practical experience is at the heart of the subject at all levels.
Pupils are not only performers in productions. In the older year groups pupils are also invited to be part of the technical crew on lighting and sound design, stage management, set and costume design, and as assistant directors.
Productions
A love of performing and confidence on the stage begins in the early years, with end of term performances showcased as early as Reception.
All pupils are welcome to audition for productions open to their year group, whether or not they choose drama as an academic subject for GCSE and beyond.
From Year 9, pupils can audition to be part of the main school production, which every two years is an all-singing all dancing collaboration with the Music Department.
