The Nursery at St Peter’s School, York, provides a vibrant educational setting where children develop a lifelong love for learning through play, exploration and specialised instruction.
Our Nursery sits within our Junior School campus with its own playground area. It offers a distinct but familiar environment for the very start of early years education.
Our Curriculum
Children in our Nursery are looked after by a dedicated team of highly-qualified early years staff, who nurture each child to feel comfortable, confident and a valued part of the St Peter’s family.
Our curriculum across the Early Years Foundation Stage is based on curriculum guidance in 'Development Matters'. Our curriculum has plenty of scope and versatility within it so we can respond to the children's interests, needs, and current events.
At our school nursery, children engage in a structured yet flexible schedule that includes specialist classes such as PE, Music, Italian and Forest School designed to enrich their learning experience. Through a blend of play, exploration and activities fostering creative and critical thinking, our young learners embark on a journey of discovery where each moment is an opportunity to grow and thrive.
After Nursery, children have a guaranteed place at our Award winning Junior school, where they will move up to join the Reception class.
Nursery Options
Children are eligible for our Acorns class from the September they are 2 years-old and can apply for our Conkers class from the September they are 3 years-old.
Children can either stay for full days, or attend morning or afternoon sessions. We offer a 50 week nursery. They can attend all throughout the year or term time only. Sessions during holiday time are booked separately and are an additional charge of £55/day.
- Full Day - 8.45am - 3.15pm
- Morning Session - 8.45am - 11.40am
- Afternoon Session - 12.40pm - 3.15pm
Optional care is available before and after the school day
- Before School Care (included in school fee): 7:45am to 8:25am
- After School Care (included in school fee): 3:20pm to 4:15pm
- After School Care (additional charge): 4:15pm to 6pm
