St Peter’s pupils put their everything into the Inter-House Rowing Competition which saw three nail-biting races cheered on by supportive peers. It was great to have such high levels of participation and fun with some great rowing skills on show.
The rowing machines were linked electronically, and the race was projected onto a large screen to add real-time atmosphere and excitement. Head of Rowing, Mr Gunn, said: “This was excellent fun with teamwork, cooperation, fantastic support and talent on display."
In a relay race format, the popular Friday afternoon competition saw:
- an exciting Third Form finish where Queens triumphed after a seven-minute battle.
- Fourth and Fifth Form teams exert themselves admirably over nine minutes with Clifton as the ultimate victors.
- Sixth Form show their rowing prowess over nine minutes with a close battle between Hope and Queens (with Hope emerging as winners).
