St Peter's School is well-known for its home-grown rugby talent, and many of our rugby pupils aim high by representing local and regional clubs outside of school.
Elias is representing the Yorkshire Rugby Academy against Leicester Tigers this Saturday whilst Louis has been selected for the Yorkshire U18s and captained the side against Lancashire last Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sam, Freddie, Theo and James have all been selected for the Independent Schools Lambs North and Midlands Squad, and they will play this Sunday in a festival for selection into the National Squad. We wish them the best of luck.
Special mention should also go to Ben, Richard and Toby who are also involved with the Yorkshire Rugby Academy but are all currently recovering from injury.
Mr Steve Williams, Director of Sport at St Peter's, said: "Congratulations to all our rugby players who have been in action over the Christmas holidays and good luck to those who will be playing in upcoming fixtures outside of school. We are proud of their remarkable dedication and sportsmanship both on and off the pitch."
Earlier this year, an article in The Rugby Paper described St Peter's School as "a fiercely competitive, well-coached side that can never be discounted in national competitions". It has been wonderful to return to competitive fixtures in recent months and we look forward to competing again this term.
