Evie (Fourth Form), Rithi (Fifth Form) and Bea (Fifth Form) took part in the first round of the ESU Mace debating competition on Tuesday evening. The team held their own as they competed against some Sixth Form teams. They were proposing the motion: "This House Would make fines for criminal and civil offences proportionate to the wealth of the offender."
The team worked well together to structure some good arguments and the judge offered some excellent feedback in preparation for the next round. They thoroughly deserved their progression to round 2! Thank you to the teams involved and to the ESU for organising the competition
