What a busy week the Year One children have had this week! It has been another cold and chilly week in the provision areas of Year One!
The children have been busy exploring and identifying key features of the Artic Circle. To support this and through our enquiry areas, the children have been travelling non-stop around the world on Google Earth to explore the Article Circle and many other countries.
It has been wonderful to see the level of enthusiasm and excitement that the children had as they landed in different countries and began to explore similarities and differences between them. Alongside this, the children have begun to investigate and explore fact files and information texts and the importance of these. In the craft area this week, the children have been discovering the different techniques that they can create using charcoal.
This was very messy, but the outcomes were truly spectacular! We are excited to see how the children can use these techniques independently over the next couple of weeks and finally…we have also started something very special this week on the lead up to Christmas but SHHHHH! All will be revealed.
