Year 3 News Week 8

Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely half term. The children have settled back in well and it promises to be an exciting run up to Christmas! 

This week our theme story has reached a very exciting climax with Leonora planning an escape from the island and discovering her Uncle has been deceiving her all along! She uses all her imaginative and creative skills to create a hot air balloon to make her escape. This has led us in turn to think about the history of flight and, in particular,  the first hot air balloon flight. We read the story of the Montgolfier Brothers and will be turning their invention into a comic strip and later into a movie.
