Booker-nominated writer Gabriel Krauze visited St Peter's School on Thursday 10 March to deliver a lecture on Literature to Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth English pupils.
St Peter's first made contact with Gabriel in November 2020, when his novel Who They Was won the school's own Booker Prize Debate. Upper Sixth pupils and staff members gathered in the Library on 17 November 2020 to hear shortlisted books from the real Booker Prize shortlist being heartily defended by Upper Sixth pupils and teaching staff.
The winning book, Who They Was, was defended by Issy, Khushi and Miss Todd. The girls received signed copies of Who They Was after Gabriel read about their success on Twitter, and he agreed to attend the school's Booker Prize Debate in November 2021.
Unfortunately Gabriel's visit to St Peter's was postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions, so has been wonderful to finally welcome him to the school to meet our talented Sixth Form pupils.
