The Eco Club at St Peter's 13-18 enjoyed planting trees on the school campus this week.
Thirteen pupils from the Eco Club received a demonstration from the school's gardeners, before planting 26 trees in the Paddock at the southern end of the St Peter's School campus. They planted a range of different trees including wild cherry, rowan, and silver birch.
The trees were donated to the school by The Woodland Trust as part of The Queen's Green Canopy project, which invites people across the United Kingdom to 'Plant a Tree for the Jubilee' ahead of the Queen's Jubilee in June 2022.
Sam Hall, who co-ordinates the Eco Club at St Peter's, said: "It was wonderful to see the pupils planting trees on the campus this week. The gardeners were very impressed by their tree-planting technique and hopefully we will be able to plant even more trees in future."
