St Peter’s held a celebration on Wednesday, February 26th for three of our excellent staff members who have spent the last 25 years working at the school. A huge thank you to Jenny Feetenby, Sharon Fisher and Bev Newell for dedicating so much to St Peter's.
Staff gathered in the Dining Room for drinks and treats before Mr. Walker and Mr. Roberts (Head of Operations) read some speeches and presented each of the ladies with flowers and gifts in celebration of their service to the school. There was a great turnout which is a testament to the huge difference they make within the St Peter’s community. Here are some comments made by their colleagues in recognition of all their hard work:
Bev Newell is part of the Housekeeping Team at Dronfield. She is very motherly towards the girls boarding in Dronfield. She is always on hand to give advice & has had a great impact on many of the girls who have been boarding in Dronfield since Bev joined. There is never a dull moment with Bev, as she is working along to a tune, singing or whistling by herself. Bev is well known and liked by all the staff and neighbours around Dronfield and she goes above and beyond in her role. Bev has a great relationship with her colleagues in Dronfield, who say they are “fortunate to have Bev as our colleague. She is kind, considerate, hard working, and we hope to have her working in Dronfield for many more years to come.”.
Jenny Feetenby is a Cleaner at The Rise. Over the years Jenny has worked with lots of colleagues and has always ensured they were welcomed and felt part of The Rise. Over the years Jenny has played an important role in the pastoral care of the 700 or so girls who have lived in The Rise since March 2000, with her excellent eyes and ears. Always willing to go the extra mile to help, Jenny never complains, and is always approachable, for a chat or a giggle, (often at her own expense). Jenny’s partner in crime since 2019 is Corinne, they have become the best of friends, and the most meticulous cleaning duo.
Sharon Fisher works in Catering since the 10th of February 2000. Sharon started life here at St Peter’s in the kitchen at 13-18 where she was responsible for preparing the salads for the lunchtime service. After a while Sharon moved out of the kitchen and she started to work in the dining room, serving the meals and making sure the dining room was always clean and tidy. Her dedication over the last 25 years makes Sharon such a popular person with the pupils and colleagues alike. She is always on hand in the dining room to help.
Sharon, Bev and Jenny are all an integral part of the staff here at St Peter’s and the school would like to congratulate them on their 25 years of excellent service.
