Two teams from St Peter’s participated in the first round of the ESU Churchill Public Speaking Competition this week.
The event, which was hosted on Tuesday 9 February via Zoom, encouraged pupils to develop skills in the art of speech writing and presenting, questioning and chairing.
The judges were very impressed with both teams from St Peter’s, using words like ‘wonderful’, ‘in control’ and ‘very well-engaged'.
Team 1 from St Peter’s won the round and progress through to the next round in March.
Special mentions were made to Polly and Edward who were named ‘best Chairperson’ and ‘best questioner’ respectively from the round.
