Fifth Form pupils at St Peter’s School have achieved another outstanding set of GCSE results this year, a remarkable achievement given the disruption and lockdowns they have faced over the last two years.
56.8% of results were awarded at grades 9 and 8, with 75.7% at grades 9 to 7 and 99% at grades 9 to 4 (grade C and above).
The school is proud of the achievements of all of its pupils and there have been some exceptional individual performances.
Henry Jameson and Thomas Johnson both achieved 12 GCSEs at grade 9 while Martha Dunsmore achieved 11 GCSEs at grade 9. Overall, 29 pupils achieved a clean sweep of ten or more GCSEs at grades 9 and 8 (A*) and will become Academic Scholars.
Jeremy Walker, Head Master says:
I am incredibly proud of our Fifth Form pupils for everything they have achieved over the last two years. I applaud their maturity, resilience and whole-hearted commitment to their studies which they have continued to demonstrate under the most challenging circumstances.
I would also like to thank my talented colleagues who have provided inspirational teaching and unwavering support for our pupils throughout the global pandemic. Pupils and teachers have all adapted to new ways of learning and the staff at St Peter’s School have worked tirelessly to ensure the assessment process was carried out to the highest standards. Today’s results are a fitting reward for all their hard work.
Our Fifth Form pupils already make a valuable contribution to life at St Peter’s School, combining their academic studies with a vast range of co-curricular activities. We look forward to seeing their skills, values and interests develop further as they progress to Sixth Form, joined by talented new pupils from other schools in September.
