The Junior Inter-House debating has been running really well with fantastic speeches and great support. Well done to all involved so far!
The semi-final took place on Thursday 14 October and we were treated to a thrilling set of debates inspired by the motion 'This House Believes that Prison Should Only Be for Violent Criminals'. We enjoyed some incredibly thought-provoking discussions from all teams, asking us to consider questions such as 'what purpose do prisons play in today's society?' and 'what other alternatives exist?'
The winner of the first semi-final was School and the second semi-final winner was Hope. Congratulations to both teams who will compete next Thursday in the Final for the Junior Inter House Debating 2021-22. It is sure to be another fiery debate!
Those of you who do competitive debating on a Tuesday evening are invited to a meeting in P12 on Tuesday lunchtime next week at 13.30. Please come along if you are interested in taking part in some external debating competitions
