A group of J5s travelled to Leeds this week to perform their adaptation of The Tempest in the Shakespeare School's Festival at Leeds Playhouse. Initially, the group worked hard with the theatre staff in the technical and dress rehearsal, as they needed to perfect the transition from our very own Shepherd Hall to a much bigger, professional theatre stage. After that, they enjoyed the dress rehearsals of two other schools performing Macbeth and then Hamlet.
The group were praised at the end for their creativity, energy and delivery of the language. Our wonderful technical and backstage teams were also mentioned for their hard work over the weeks. It was universally agreed that all those extra hours put in since November, really paid off. There was a lovely buzz from the audience and from being around the other schools. A fantastic, memorable experience for all.
