Congratulations to pupils Lucy, Freddie, Zoe and Scarlett who have been selected as finalists in this year's The Big Bang Competition. Their entries were judged against over 200 other projects across the nation, competing for a significant cash prize and the for the coveted title of UK Young Engineer of the Year.
Freddie and Scarlett are also shortlisted for the Intellectual Property Office Award for Outstanding Innovator. The Intellectual Property Office promotes innovation to help the economy and society to benefit from knowledge and ideas.
Good luck to the pupils who will be showcasing their projects either online, in interviews with the competition sponsors or at the Awards Ceremony at the Birmingham NEC later in the year.
All pupils found a problem that they were passionate about and produced well-executed products which were well received by the judges.
If you would like to see these projects among other work from GCSE Design & Technology and A-Level Product Design please take the opportunity to visit this year's Design & Technology Exhibition in the Whitestone Gallery. The exhibition will be running until Wednesday 4 May.
