On Friday, our swim team travelled down to London to compete in the annual World School Swimming Games at the Olympic Pool in London.
Lots of medals, personal bests and new friends were made from all around the world, and to top it off, the senior girls finished as the overall winners - congratulations to Eliza A, Rachel, Eliza B and Becky. Amazing determination and persistence from all four girls to achieve such a high standard of swimming against a competitive international field.
Head of Swimming, Mr Maycock, said that “It was such a pleasure to be a part of, with amazing teamwork and all pupils supporting one another. I am very proud of them all, and a massive thanks must go to Mrs Garrett and Mr Davin for their time and efforts.”
A special mention also to Freddie and Raya for a huge haul of individual medals, with Freddie being crowned as the 200m Freestyle Champion in the Open Age Category. We collected 29 medals in total; 6 Gold, 16 Silver and 7 Bronze!
What a weekend for the swim team!
