Super talented songwriter Isla, J4, was delighted to make the Top 30 in a national songwriting competition recently which had over 1,000 entries from across the world.
Isla’s mum described her as “over the moon” with the news that she is now in the Top 10 of the Song Academy’s Young Songwriter of the Year Competition (8-12 Category) 2023, and eagerly anticipating the final in September!
The Top 3 will perform live in London venue, The Tabernacle, in front of judges.
Following in the footsteps of megastars such as Ed Sheeran, Isla recorded the song in her dining room, writing and producing it all singlehandedly.
Isla said, “Being able to share my music with people and hear what industry experts think and feel about it is such a wonderful opportunity. It’s lovely hearing that people enjoy listening to your music and think it’s good enough to be in the top 30!”
The song is now available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.
Isla recently performed her song at the 8-13 Electric Dreams school concert, the first time she has ever performed one of her songs live. Her mum said, “This was such a big moment. Thank you for encouraging her; it means so much.”
