On Tuesday, the MFL department held a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. In conjunction with the European Day of Languages, St Peter's 13-18 pupils were encouraged to bake a cake with a language or culture theme. Congratulations to Tom, whose IKEA cake won top prize.
Entries included French cupcakes and an IKEA meatball cake and were sold to pupils and staff at break for £1 each. It was fantastic to see the dining hall full of staff and pupils coming to support Macmillan, as well as enjoy the tasty treats! The sale raised £201 for Macmillan, which will go towards funding Macmillan nurses, Support Line calls, financial support, and more.
Prior to the bake sale, there was a European Day of Languages chapel, in which pupils read a prayer in different languages, to celebrate the diversity of races, cultures and languages in the world.
