In a remarkable display of community support and generosity, the recent Fundraising Gala Dinner at the Minster Refectory in York on November 24 surpassed all expectations.
The event, organised in support of the Keys for Life Bursary Campaign, witnessed an overwhelming response from attendees of generosity and commitment to this important cause. The gala, a collective effort of the St Peter's School community, successfully raised over £20,000, the equivalent of a 50% Sixth Form bursary place - a substantial amount that will significantly expand opportunities for pupils seeking an education at St Peter's School.
This achievement was made possible, in large part, by the exceptional generosity of participants both at the gala and those bidding from afar, in the online auction, where a wide array of incredible items, generously contributed by the St Peter's community, were showcased. The inaugural screening of the Bursary Film during the gala evening was a standout moment. The film captured the life-changing stories of individuals who have benefited from bursaries. Accompanying the screening, Hannah Perry (OP 1997) and former bursary recipient, delivered a moving testimonial, reinforcing the profound impact of bursaries.
Thank you to all who contributed, attended, and supported the event and auction. The dedication and generosity of everybody has paved the way for continued educational opportunities for more pupils in the years to come.
