Our Charity Group at St Peter's 8-13 have once again co-ordinated a toy collection for The Salvation Army as part of the charity's Christmas Appeal.
Pupils, parents and staff were encouraged to donate gifts and toys to The Salvation Army to support struggling families this Christmas. The toys and gifts were added to a sleigh in the Reception at St Peter's 8-13 before being collected by the York branch of the Salvation Army before the end of term.
Major Andrew Dunkinson, from The Salvation Army, said: "We are very grateful to everyone for their kindness in helping to make Christmas special for struggling families. Your kindness will bring so much joy and happiness into the lives of so many local children on Christmas Day."
This year, The Salvation Army have provided the 731 children referred to them with Christmas presents and 279 families with additional help with food. Food provision was 10% higher this year than last year, demonstrating the charity's need for ongoing support and donations.
Thank you to all who donated.
