The children have enjoyed practicing their sports skills this term in their regular PE lessons.
Last week, pupils at St Peter’s 2-8 were learning how to improve their throwing and aiming skills. Pupils worked in pairs using skittles as a target to try and knock over as many as they could. There was a lot of laughter and cheers as the skittles came crashing down!

I was really encouraged by the collaborative approach the children adopted.
The children have also enjoyed a return to competitive sport this term. Last month, Year Three participated in a House Hockey tournament, representing their respective houses and showcasing their impressive skills.
Physical Education is a key area in the curriculum at St Peter's with all children from Nursery to Year Three participating in two specialised lessons each week. As the children move up the school swimming lessons become a fantastic addition to their physical education.
The children are taught the skills of many competitive games as well as gymnastics and dance. In Year Three all the children experience playing as part of a team in inter-school fixtures providing an important introduction to competitive sport.
It is our aim to provide every child at St Peter's School with the opportunity to take part in a wide range of physical activities, learning new skills and enjoy the positives of teamwork and a healthy lifestyle being active.
