Our Sports Departments are helping our pupils to maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay active at home.
The Sports Department at St Peter's 13-18 have relaunched the popular Inter-House Sports Challenge, in addition to the remote Games programme on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. They are also sharing Weekly Workout videos every Monday, live Strength and Conditioning classes via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursday, Five Minute Time Out exercises on Fridays and Wellbeing Moments on Saturdays.
Meanwhile, the Sports Department at St Peter's 8-13 have inspired pupils with their remote Games programme, including fitness circuits, hockey and netball drills, running and fundamental movement patterns.
Mr Williams, Director of Sport at St Peter's 13-18, said: "The co-curricular Games programme has been designed to deliver an experience for our pupils that represents our current circumstances. All our major sports are included with activities adapted to be challenging yet fun. Individual fitness challenges and House Challenges provide motivation for pupils to stay active and get away from the screen.
"I have been really proud of all our pupils who have engaged with the programme and the motivation they have shown to remain fit for their chosen sports, and also to our individual coaches who have worked really hard to provide some outstanding content. Well done to all."
Mr Savage, Head of Sport at St Peter's 8-13, said: "We have tried to inspire the children to not only be active, but develop their netball and hockey skills too. The children's engagement with developing their fundamental movement patterns and 5k running ability has been an absolute pleasure to witness."
