Last week Year 2 and 3 held two very special music concerts. The concerts were our first of the school year and the first for over 18 months where our children were able to perform to a live audience. The children were brilliant and the choir sang beautifully with huge smiles on their faces throughout. The 75+ member choir of Year 2 and 3 entertained the audience at the start of the concerts performing brilliant songs, several of them in five parts. Then the children gave individual performances in two separate year group concerts.
Well done to all of the children who played a range of instruments including the recorder, guitar and piano. Thank you to the parents who attended the event both in the Rayson Room and via our live streaming, it was lovely having a live audience in school.
Our thanks also go to Mrs Hayden for organising the concert and to Mrs Clarke and Mrs Leaman-Brown the recorder teacher for preparing the children for the concert.
“All the children were fabulous, they were able to show off their hard work and demonstrated resilience and kindness to their friends alongside their musical skills.” – Mr Hardy, Head of St Peter’s 2-8
