The Young Enterprise team at St Peter's School are growing in confidence after winning the Best Company Award at the Harrogate Trade Fair on Saturday 4 December.
The Lower Sixth pupils on the Young Enterprise team have created their own social enterprise called 'Grow', an eco-friendly brand which seeks to bring the benefits of nature indoors. The pupils are hoping to create an Office / Zen garden to go on the corner of a desk, and they exhibited their ideas and prototype designs at the Harrogate Trade Fair.
Dominic Shread, who co-ordinates the Young Enterprise project at St Peter's School, said: "This preliminary round of the Young Enterprise competition is a representation of the team's hard work this term. I'm looking forward to seeing what they achieve next term."
Young Enterprise is a national charity who specialises in enterprise education and financial education. The Young Enterprise group at St Peter's will compete against other teams across the country for Young Enterprise Company of the Year Award, a Europe-wide business competition which inspires pupils to work in teams to develop and run a real business.
Last year's Young Enterprise team reached the European Finals with their social enterprise 'Caring Through Cooking'.
