Eliza (Fifth Form) recently completed the 5k course of the Great North Swim.
"Conditions were extremely challenging with high winds and choppy waters for the swim on Sunday morning. However, while many much more experienced competitors were forced to withdraw, Eliza swam the course in 2 hours 11 mins raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of her grandmother who died earlier this year."
Her family were in awe of her determination both in training for the event during her GCSEs and in completing it in such difficult conditions. She sat her final GCSE exam only in the past couple of weeks! Eliza and her family await confirmation from the organisers, but believe she was the youngest competitor to complete the 5k course this year.
Well done Eliza!
