Christmas Present Appeal

We are delighted to report that we filled a whole minibus (and a car!) with more than 400 gifts, as part of a Christmas donation.

The community effort at St Peter's School saw every student at Grange Farm Primary School in Leeds receive a Christmas present this year.

The initiative, led by the school's social action team began with the goal of collecting gifts for every child at Grange Farm, a school that has previously been supported by St Peter's school.

Pupils joined the St Peter’s Design Technology staff and made wooden Christmas trees with gift tags attached indicating the age and gender of the recipient.

Pupils, parents and staff were invited to take one or more of the tags and purchase presents for the children of Grange Farm, with a deadline of the end of term for the donations.

Financial donations were also accepted to help purchase any remaining presents. The social action team, with the help of the funds collected, bought and wrapped additional presents.

"The project was a resounding success, with the team reaching their target of 404 gifts," a spokesperson for the school said.

They added: "The St Peter’s Social Action Team would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, whether through donating gifts, financial support, or their time.

"A special mention goes to Millie and Katie for their hard work in coordinating this year’s Toy Appeal, assisted by Mrs Rigby."
