Wherever you are and however you are celebrating, we would like to wish all members of the St Peter's School community a very happy Chinese New Year.
Our boarders and key worker children at school have been celebrating in their own way, with a magnificent Chinese buffet served by the catering team.
The delicious banquet included spicy broth with vermicelli noodles followed by Tempura chicken with sweet and sour sauce or char sui pork.
There were lots of sides including homemade spring rolls and prawn toast, Dan Dan noodles and stir fried aubergine. Chinese desserts included coconut tapioca and mini egg tarts and there were even chocolate heart cupcakes for Valentine's Day.
To complete the buffet, the children were served prawn crackers and fortune cookies.
Children at St Peter's 2-8 have also been learning about Chinese traditions this week, from making lanterns to Chinese dragons.
Our thoughts are with all members of the St Peter's School community as we celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Ox, particularly our boarders who are celebrating with their families overseas.
