Children at St Peter’s 2-8 have been putting their cooking skills to the test with a Healthy Eating competition judged by Morrisons Supermarket.
At the start of term, Morrisons Supermarkets set the children a challenge to design a healthy pizza. Morrisons’ Development Chef and The Director of New Product design judged the competition and chose six finalists, who have all received an apron and chef’s hat.
Following an official taste test at Morrisons Head Office, two winners were selected. Their pizzas were created with bespoke packaging and delivered to school on Friday 26 February.
Well done to the finalists Esmie, Lexie, Lottie and James and the winners Natalie and Edmund.
Mr Phil Hardy, Head of St Peter’s 2-8, said:
Very well done to all who entered, including the worthy winners. My thanks go to all the staff at Morrisons, particularly Emily who coordinated the whole project.
Year 2 and 3 have been learning about Healthy Eating in their PSHE lessons, focusing on nutrition and ‘brain food’. The Healthy Eating competition has inspired them to think about healthy lifestyle choices and the importance of a balanced diet.
