During the half term break, children in Year 1 decided to undertake the challenge of the ‘10k Any Way’ fundraiser for York NHS Trust.
Led by Sofia B, the children set their own personal challenge to get to 10k, joining other people of all ages and abilities taking part in the challenge across the country.
The children dragged their families out of their homes during half term to run, walk or cycle to raise funds in support of York Hospital.
In total, the children covered 674.5km over half term and have raised an incredible £5,021.25 so far for York NHS Trust.
Mr Hardy, Head of St Peter’s 2-8, said:
Well done to all of the children, their families and to Sofia, who encouraged others to join in her challenge. It’s heart-warming!
We are so proud of the children and incredibly grateful to them for supporting York Teaching Hospital Charity. The money they have raised will make a huge difference in York Hospital.
