Barbara Cartwright, affectionately known as Babs, has been working at St Peter’s School for 40 years this year. She has been an integral part of Wentworth for this time, ensuring a home away from home for generations of junior boarders.
The school held a presentation for Babs, where Phil Hardy, Head of 8-13, gave a speech. He recalled where Babs has gone above and beyond to make pupils, even outside of Wentworth, feel special, even knitting spiders filled with chocolate for pupils at 2-8 during Halloween. She has created lifelong memories for everyone who comes through Wentworth, and is loved and respected by pupils across all years.
The attendees of the surprise presentation proved this, with the youngest Wentworth boarders to the Sixth Form, who still remember their own time in Wentworth. These pupils gave Babs a card and gift of their own, to thank her for the difference she made to their experience.
Congratulations to Babs for reaching such an impressive milestone, and the whole school would like to thank you for your commitment to our community and to our pupils.
