Christmas is always an exciting time for the boarders at St Peter’s. Many of our Christmas activities were cancelled last year as a result of COVID-19, so our boarders have enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in style this term.
The annual Boarders’ Dinners are always a highlight of the boarding calendar. The four senior boarding Houses enjoyed dressing up in formal attire for a delicious three course meal, served in the Dining Hall and the Memorial Hall over two nights on 7 and 8 December.
The junior boarders enjoyed a Christmas jamboree on Monday 13 December and sang Carols on the Stairs on Tuesday 14 December for the senior boarders. On Wednesday 15 December, the junior boarders also participated in the annual Ready Steady Cook competition where they competed against each other to create the best festive meal. This year’s competition was judged by Mr Walker, Mr Falconer and boarding House staff.
All boarders also enjoyed a colourful Christmas Dinner in the Dining Hall on Sunday 12 December, an opportunity for the junior and senior boarders to gather for a Christmas celebration. The celebrations continued in the last week of term, with Christmas jumper parties in the boarding Houses and ice skating in York, an exciting end to a busy and eventful term.
