Every week pupils from St Peter’s 2-8 visit Forest School to explore this colourful and stimulating outdoor environment.
The children learn about nature and their wider environment with the freedom to explore, investigate and learn skills for life. The children also visit the Forest School to support their thematic learning in lessons.
Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed their trips to the Forest School this year. In October, they fully embraced their theme ‘The Firebird’ by making beautiful bird nests at Forest School, hoping the Firebird would come and settle there.
Earlier this month, they revisited Forest School to learn about quadrilaterals. The worked together to create Mondrian style art, using the shapes they had learnt about in class.
This week, Year 2 have been making their own Christmas decorations in Forest School, using willow and string to tie them together. Tree-mendous work Year 2!
