York Independent State School Partnership (York ISSP) have launched their 2021 Masterclass Programme inspired by the theme 'Freedom to Choose?'
The York ISSP Masterclass Programme, held annually since 2008, is designed to push and challenge York’s most able and interested students and is focused on delving into a theme, seeking the answers to complex questions.
The Masterclasses on offer to explore this year’s focus, Freedom to Choose? will allow your child(ren) the opportunity to look to the future and to the past across a diverse range of subjects such as classics, psychology, building a green economy and the birth of maths!
The Masterclasses are available to pupils in Years 7-8 and Years 9-10. Anyone interested in joining the Masterclasses is invited to join a launch meeting on Thursday 4 February at 6pm for pupils in Years 7-8 and 7pm for pupils in Years 9-10. York ISSP Coordinator Clancy McMullan will explain the logistics of this year's Masterclass Programme and answer any questions you might have.
After the meeting, your child will be asked to register for a place and select their preferences - a link will be made available to do so at the end of the meeting via the YouTube page. Attendance at this meeting is therefore advisable.
The masterclasses, which are FREE of charge, will take place over three Saturdays in March - 6, 13 & 20 - and will run remotely between 2pm-3.30pm. Masterclasses are always popular, and often oversubscribed: therefore, students must commit to attend all three weeks.
Please also be aware that registration does not guarantee your child a place; you will be notified after half term whether you have been successful.
