Old Peterites

The Careers Department and Development & Alumni Department at St Peter’s School have begun their second programme of mentoring sessions. All Lower Sixth pupils will have been mentored by the end of the year.

The project brings together Old Peterites and current Lower Sixth pupils to help the pupils develop the skills required for life after school.

Each mentor has been allocated six pupils, and the pupils had the opportunity to choose their mentors.

Meet our OPs:

Harry Cooke (2001)
Harry left St Peter’s in 2001 and went on to study Computer Science at Newcastle University, graduating in 2005. Harry worked as IT Development Manager for Minster Law in York, before leaving his job to go full time at York Gin in 2018. Harry is one of the Directors of York Gin, a company he founded after building a still to create and distil his own gin at home!

Sara Foster (1999)
During Sara’s time at St Peter’s, she held many positions of responsibility, as a monitor, Head of Clifton House and girls’ hockey captain. After she left the school, she studied Natural Sciences at Durham, graduating with a 2:1, and holds further qualifications in Law, and Surveying. Sara has studied Italian and also lived abroad in Italy. She began her career in the construction industry in 2007 as a Surveyor at LHL Group, and recently became a Client Relationship Manager at the design and fit out company Apleona Workspace.

Edward Frost (2011)
After leaving St Peter’s, Edward went on to study an MSc in Advanced Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has experience as a Financial Broker and is currently an Aerospace Engineer at BAE Systems. Fond memories of school include lunchtimes spent having fun in common rooms with friends. He values his time at school and is grateful for the hard work and dedication the teaching staff put in, enabling him to get where he is today.

Jordan Kay (2011)
Jordan works as an Investment Manager at Sandton Capital Partners, a private equity fund. Previously he worked in M&A at Lincoln International and Restructuring at Ernst & Young.   Jordan has worked in London, Dubai and Stockholm. He graduated with a First Class Degree from Lancaster University majoring in Accounting, a degree in conjunction with Ernst & Young.  Jordan has fond memories from his time at St Peter’s and looks forward to sharing his experience with pupils.

Ellie Naismith (2011)
Ellie was Head of School House and joint Captain of the Debating Team in her final year, leaving St Peter's in 2011, after which she attended Durham University from where she graduated with a BA in Politics. She began her career in public affairs and communications, before moving to a role in Parliament leading on Health and Social Care policy research (and latterly COVID-19 research) for Conservative MPs. She is now an Account Director at a public affairs and communications agency, specialising in health and working with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Ellie has also been a mentor for The Girls’ Network for the last 4 years.

Alice Tickle (2002)
After 14 years of growing up through the St Peter’s schools, Alice went on to complete an MA in Modern History and Classical Civilisation at St Andrew’s, followed by an LLB, which began her career as a solicitor. With 14 years of experience working in Legal Services, she is now Senior In-House Counsel at the global law firm Eversheds Sutherland. Her time at the school gave her great self-confidence, and the invaluable skills required to effectively communicate within her professional field.
